In Herdly you can track the ownership of an animal, the veterinarian who preg checked your animals, who you purchased animals from or sold them to, etc. In all these situations you'll be choosing a contact from the list of contacts you set up here. Setting up your contacts can be done on the computer or mobile device. On a computer, go to Setup > Contacts to open the Contacts window.
Your current list of contacts will appear in the list on the left side of the window. To add a new contact, click the + button and then enter the contact information in the fields on the right.
To modify an existing contact, select it in the list and then make your changes in the fields to the right. If you change the name of a contact here, any place it was referred to in Herdly will be updated to the new name. Your changes will be saved each time you select a different contact as well as when you close the window.
If a contact was accidentally entered and has not yet been used anywhere in Herdly, you can delete it by selecting it and clicking the - button.
If you have a lot of contacts, you can use the search field at the top to find a contact quickly. You can also use the Archived checkbox to indicate whether you want to include archived contacts in the list.
To work with contacts on a mobile device go to Ranch > Contacts.
This screen will show your list of contacts. At the top is a switch where you toggle whether archived contacts are included in the list. To create a new contact, tap the + button at the top of the screen and then fill in the fields and tap Save. To edit an existing contact, tap it and then make your changes, tapping Save when you are done.
If you have tapped a contact, you can use the Archive Contact button to change the archival status. Or you can use the Delete Contact button to delete the contact if it hasn't been used.
