Changing the View

A lot of different information for each animal can be shown by Herdly in the animal list and you can change what is shown as needed. This process works differently on a computer and a mobile device.
On a Computer
Within the list itself, you can rearrange existing columns by dragging a column header into a new place. You can also resize a column by dragging the column separator left or right.
To add or remove columns, click the View button to open the View window. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Command-Shift-V (Mac) or Control-Shift-V (Windows).
This window has two lists in it. On the left is a list of possible columns that haven't been added to the list. On the right is the list of columns that are currently showing in the animal list. These are shown in the same order they are placed in the list.
There are three ways to add columns to the list:
- Drag and drop a column from the left list to the right list, dropping it in the order you want it to appear. If you want to drag multiple items at the same time, hold the Option key (Mac) or Alt key (Windows) down as you drag.
- Double-click an item in the list. It will be added to the bottom of the other list.
- Select one or more items in the list and click the >> button to add it to the list on the right.
Because the list on the left can be very large, you can use the search field at the top to quickly find the field you are looking for. You can also collapse and expand each section in the list by clicking on the disclosure triangle to the left of the section header. If you right-click inside the list, you'll have the option to collapse or expand all the sections.
The same principles apply when removing items from the right list, only in the reverse. When a column is moved back to the list on the left, it will be put in it natural place.
To rearrange your columns, drag and drop them in the list on the right. When you are done, click the OK button and the animal list's columns will be updated.
On a Mobile Device
The animal list on a mobile device has four pieces of information about the animal in it, one in each corner. You can change what field is shown in each corner by going to Settings > Animal List Preferences. There is an example cell at the top of the screen which shows the field currently being displayed in each corner.
To change a field, tap one of the cell corners. This will turn that field red so you know it is the one you are dealing with. Now find the field you want to display in that corner in the list below and select it. If you want to change another field, repeat the process. When you are finished, simply go back to the animal list and the fields will be updated.
