Watch this video to get a brief overview of the New Diagnosis Event action. The text below goes into more detail.
This action is used to diagnose a sick animal and start the treatment process. Once an animal is diagnosed, you can continue to add treatment events until the process is finished. At that point you would indicate to Herdly that the animal is no longer being treated.
Although not normal, it is possible for an animal to be treated for two different diagnoses at the same time. However, Herdly will warn about this if you use this action for an animal already being treated.
This action can be used on both computers and mobile devices. To learn how to start an action, please see Actions.
First select the animal to be treated. Then you can start this action. It will only be available if exactly one animal is selected.
On mobile devices, the New Diagnosis Event action is found under the Events tool bar item.
All of this action's fields are listed below. If any are required to have a value, that is noted. If there is any special information about the field that you need to know for this action, it is also noted. More general information about all of the fields can be found in the Field Descriptions topic.
When you have finished filling in the fields in this action, use the Save button to save your information. Unless you checked the Is Last Treatment field, the animal will now be considered in treatment. As you continue to treat the animal, use the New Treatment Event action to record more treatments. Each time you do, you'll have the option to tell Herdly that it is the last treatment. If you forget, you can always edit the diagnosis event and tell Herdly the treatment is finished.
If you make a mistake with the diagnosis part of this event, use the Diagnosis Events child list on the computer to edit or delete the diagnosis. If you make a mistake with the treatment or drugs part of this event, use the Treatment Events child list on the computer to edit or delete the treatment. On a mobile device, you can edit or delete diagnoses or treatments by using the edit button next to the event in the Animal History action.
